Welcome to broke. By using our app, you agree to the following terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.

1. Use of the App

broke is a mobile budgeting application that helps users track their spending across pay cycles. Access to full functionality may require an active subscription.

You may only use the app for its intended purpose — personal budgeting and expense tracking. Any misuse or attempts to manipulate the app's behaviour is prohibited.

2. Account Registration

To use broke, you are required to create an account using a valid email address and password. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account.

You agree to provide accurate information when registering and to keep your account details up to date. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or provide false information.

3. Subscriptions & Payments

The app is free to download. A paid subscription may be required to access certain features. Payments are processed through Apple's App Store or Google Play.

All purchases are final. We do not offer refunds except as required by applicable law or the policies of Apple or Google.

4. Third-Party Services

We use trusted third-party providers to enhance the app experience:

  • RevenueCat — for subscription handling and in-app purchases.
  • PostHog — for anonymised analytics related to app usage and behaviour.

No personally identifiable information is stored on external servers. Data is never sold or shared with third parties for advertising.

5. Your Financial Data

All budget entries, transaction history, and pay cycle configuration you create in broke are stored locally on your device only. We do not have access to this data. Deleting the app permanently removes all stored financial information.

6. Restrictions

You agree not to:

  • Use the app for unlawful or unintended purposes.
  • Reverse engineer, tamper with, or attempt to circumvent its core functions.
  • Exploit bugs or errors in the app.

We reserve the right to restrict access if the app is used in ways that violate these terms or compromise its functionality.

7. Disclaimer & Limitation of Liability

The app is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. broke is a personal finance tracking tool — it is not financial advice. We make no guarantees regarding accuracy, availability, or uninterrupted operation.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages resulting from your use of broke.

8. Changes to the Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the app after changes go into effect constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
